Montour Railroad Tunnels
The Montour Railroad had a total of four tunnels, three constructed in 1913-1914 for the Mifflin Extension, and one (Jeffreytown) constructed in 1926 during a realignment to eliminate sharp curves between Cliff Mine and Imperial. Three tunnels (all but Peacock) still remain and are utilized by the Montour Trail, a 46 mile recreational rail-trail around the southwest side of Pittsburgh.

Peacock Tunnel (1913-1918/1919) - not pictured
Southview, Pennsylvania - approx 600 feet long, curved, timber-lined, daylighted 1918/1919 (no tunnel remains)
National Tunnel aka Bishop Tunnel aka McConnell Tunnel (1913-1980)
Bishop, Pennsylvania - 623 feet long, curved, concrete lining added 1928
Greer Tunnel (1914-1980)
Thompsonville, Pennsylvania - 235 feet long, curved, concrete lining added 1922
