Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad
Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad - Garibaldi, Oregon
Photos from October 2014 & October 2018 featuring McCloud River Railway 2-6-2 #25 (Alco built 1925) and Polson Logging 2-8-2 #2 (Baldwin built 1912) with mixed trains between Tillamook, Garibaldi, Wheeler, and Salmonberry. The non-profit Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad (OCSR) began operating steam-powered excursions in 2003 over the Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad (POTB). A 2007 storm greatly damaged the POTB, ending freight service between Portland and the coast. The OCSR has since leased 45 route miles from the railroad's western end at Tillamook to the former town site of Enright along the Salmonberry River. Excursions reached the Salmonberry River Canyon in 2013 as the OCSR continued rebuilding east. For more information, visit the OCSR website.
