Photos from 2007 with Southern Pacific 2-6-0 #1744 (Baldwin built 1901), plus 2008 through 2012 with LS&I 2-8-0 #18 (Alco built 1910), in freight and passenger service on the La Veta Pass Route. In 2006, Rio Grande Scenic Railroad began steam and diesel-powered tourist trains over 61 miles of 1877-built ex-Denver & Rio Grande track between Alamosa and La Veta via scenic La Veta Pass (elev. 9242').
