Photos from May 2012 and April 2019, featuring U.S. Army 2-8-0 #28 formerly #300 (Baldwin built 1917) and Tremont & Gulf 2-8-2 #30 formerly #400 (Baldwin built 1917) leading passenger and freight trains between Rusk and Palestine in the Piney Woods of East Texas. In addition to #28 & #30, Texas State Railroad owns three other steam locomotives, all inoperable as of 2019: Texas & Pacific 4-6-0 #316 formerly #201 (A.L.
